Seeking a Finance Director for a religious nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization. The Finance Director's focus will be to develop and maintain the highest financial and legal compliance standards for a 501(C)(3) organization
Summary of Duties:
Accounting and Finance:
- Oversee day to day accounting functions
- Manages cash transfers between investment and bank accounts
- Assist the President to position/guide the ministry for the future in the area of finance and compliance
- Bank Reconciliations
- Oversight and preparation for annual audit, working with the CPA firm as required
- Financial reporting
- Preparation, approval and filing of state(s) required reports
- Directs and assigns the work of the bookkeeper
- Oversee budget development process and department budgets
General and Administration:
- Bank relations
- Insurances - business liability, Worker's Comp, bonding, Director's & Officers, DBL/PFL, and Cyber Insurance
- Assist with training of support personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum five years experience successfully leading a Finance/Accounting department or a similar function
- Experience in the nonprofit industry highly preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks, Breeze (Database) and payroll systems
- Experience with nonprofit status legal requirements
- A strong team player
- Able to work in a multicultural environment
- Must live in the Buffalo area
