Lifecoast Kids Director

Purpose 

The primary function of the Lifecoast Kids Director  is to lead and grow a team that partners with parents to help kids find and follow Jesus and live out their God-given purpose in life.  

Description

The Lifecoast Kids Director will oversee the organization and direction of the ministry that serves kids ages 0-10 years old and their parents.
The responsibilities include: 

  • Casting and protecting the vision and culture
  • Leading with values
  • Investing in and developing leaders
  • Recruiting and implementing new volunteers
  • Overseeing the spiritual development of kids and resources used
  • Maintaining good communication with other ministries
  • Connecting regularly with parents


Hours a week:   20-25, not including Sunday and Special Events

 Job Responsibilities

  • Create and protect the vision and culture of the ministry. This happens through genuine relationships. We’re more about “doing life” while serving in the ministry than “doing tasks” for the ministry. 
  • Help God grow people according to their God-given purpose. Our belief is “we use ministry to grow people and not people to grow ministry.” So the measure of success isn’t population growth, but personal growth in our people, not just in the church, but who they are as God’s people in the world. 
  • Lead Lifecoast Kids Team according to the vision given by the Lead Pastors, while building        leadership teams over the different age groups.
  • Oversee Lifecoast Kids in the day to day affairs, including quarterly & yearly planning, scheduling volunteers, equipping leaders, managing the budget, and organizing content by working with the administrative people on the team, utilizing Basecamp and other tools. 
  • Develop a solid Registration Structure for Sunday Mornings
  • Notice a continued absence of volunteers AND children and address/ encourage as needed.
  • Report needs and concerns to Pastor
  • Complete background checks on all volunteers 18 and over
  • Send out reminder emails/facebook posts weekly. 
  • Collaborate with the Youth Director for integration of ministry and unifying of vision.
  • Champion every age group. Inspire the church family to say yes to the next generation through investing in their future now. Provide multigenerational influence as kids move through the phases of growth and development by ensuring that loving and committed adults connect, share their stories, cast vision for their potential, and inspiring the church to love and treat each kid as God's image bearers. 
  • Spend time evaluating and developing leaders using our development tools.
  • Collaborate with Lifecoast Kids Leaders on a weekly basis using emails, huddles, & other tools. 
  • Recruit, implement and develop new volunteers utilizing an onboarding system. 
  • Multiply yourself by investing in core leaders through 1x1 or triad development meetings. 
  • Connect with parents collectively and one on one when needed. Goal is to have 4 parent engagements a month.
  • Set and Meet Quarterly and Yearly Goals

 

Specific Meetings & Tasks:

Daily: 

  • Answer emails/texts/calls promptly to minimize miscommunication.
  • Check and work on projects utilizing our project management system - Basecamp. 

Weekly:

  • Lead weekly events for Lifecoast Kids (Plan/Prepare/Attend)
  • Pastoral Team Meeting to discuss all ministries, current events and issues, and planning.
  • Operations Team Meeting for coordination of all events on the calendar.
  • 1x1 Leadership Development Meetings with a Core Team Leader
  • Team engagement (notes, videos, etc) with team & parents through social media & email.
  • Meet with one parent/family of the ministry.
  • Helping other teams with their projects and/or needs
  • Be adaptable to change as we grow and change as a church family.

Every 4-6 Weeks:

  • Lead Pastor Meeting for ministry needs, goal setting, budgeting, and leadership development. Be comfortable working with 30-60-90 Day goals.
  • Meet with Lifecoast Kids Core Team for: encouragement, development and strategic planning, discuss parent connection process and improvements, feedback and needs, upcoming events, volunteer development, etc.
  • Meet with the Youth Director for ministry integration.

Quarterly

  • Teachers & Volunteer Meeting for assessment and strategic planning.
    • Equip Meeting with Leadership Core Group for skill development

Bi-Yearly & Yearly

  • Meet with Lead Pastor(s) to understand direction of church and to improve ministry.  
  • Parents Meeting for vision casting, assessment and planning.
  • Attend conference(s) for personal and team development.

Special Events

  • Attend and help serve at Sunday services, Special Lifegiving Events including baptisms, holiday events and major outreaches. We like to incorporate our kids into as many events as possible so work with leaders and other ministry leaders for planning and execution.  Coordinate VBS, Missions trips, etc.

Requirements

3 years experience in developing and coordinating Kids-based ministries.

Leadership development experience in volunteer-based programs.

Experience in teaching/facilitating creative, practical, age appropriate messages.

Understanding of, and commitment to the vision & beliefs of Lifecoast Church.

Commitment to the life-giving principles of ministry and lifestyle.

Complete a Background check.

Commit to maintaining a lifegiving, fun atmosphere in the ministry.

Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, Children’s Ministries, or the like is a plus.
First Aid and CPR certified a plus.

Pay

$25,000/yr depending upon experience and fit.
